This month I celebrate my 2-year cancer-free anniversary!
To honour this, I am dedicating this month to Women of Wisdom everywhere.
You know who they are, right? Those ladies who bring all their humanity to the table in an effort to guide and support others on their path. Even if they don’t know they’re doing it. Those ones who offer a cosy cuppa or cuddle or cocktail at just the right time, and whose words seems to soothe your soul. They’ve often been on quite the journey themselves, so they walk their talk, and provide a lamp to light our way.
I’ll be sharing articles, podcast episodes and galleries to pay thanks to some of the women who have guided me on my way. This includes people I’ve never met, but who have touched my life in positive, galvanising ways. After all, we don’t have to be facing a cancer diagnosis or huge crisis to be in need of a little inspiration, support or nurturing.
We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike
~ Maya Angelou
Let’s make this a month of community, of lifting each other up and sharing what unites us all (when first writing this, I had a typo and “unites” became “unties”. I think that’s pretty apt). Whilst our life circumstances may differ, we all know what it is to love, to lose, to fear, to resent, to relish, to hope, to long, to wish, to dread, to find the courage to let go of a past in order to embrace a future.
Keep an eye out for the new blog posts and podcast eps coming up throughout this month, and of course you can head to Instagram and Facebook to share more. Best of all, why don’t you share your story with me?
Who are the women that lift you up? Who or what helps you find your inner strength, perseverance, or sense of humour? Share in the comments below.
